First look of the Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush in upcoming bollywood cinema Raanjhnaa stills. Dhanush who is all set to make his Bollywood debut, is expected to play a Hindi speaking Brahmin boy named “Kundan“. Sonam Kapoor plays a JNU student. Abhay Deol is also a part of the film a source close to the project says, “Abhay and Sonam play JNU colleagues”
The handsome actor Karthi, who is busy with back to back offers and awaiting to theater his forthcoming film Saguni has not signed ace director Gautham Menon.
It was reported by a section of media that Karthi will be doing his next with ace director and producer Gautham Menon, which is denied by the actor now. Gautham Menon is busy with a couple of projects in Hindi, a trilingual film with Samantha and also reported to be debuting into Mollywood, reportedly this top director has narrated a romantic tale to Siruthai actor who apparently thought would not fit the role well, so said no to the vinnaithandi varuvaya director.
“Whenever I come across a script, only think whether it would suit me, coming to Gautham Menon’s script it is romantic flick on young pair, so left it as it would not fit me,” says Karthi who is looking forward with Suraaj directing Alex Pandian and his yet to be started All in All Alaguraja with director M.Rajesh.
Karthi who is gearing up for the release of Saguni, is busy shooting for his next film Alex Pandian directed by Suraj.
The film stars Anushka Shetty as his heroine. We hear that the crew has moved from Hyderabad to the tribal backdrop in Chalakudy. This particular shoot is for a song that goes 'Naalu Pakkam Kaadu Irukku'. This particular song has been shot at various locations, one being Chalakudy, next on a huge ship set up in Pondicherry and at British Empire sets erected in Hyderabad.
About the song's shoot director Suraj informs, “This is one of the costliest songs to be filmed. The budget is more than a crore. We put more effort into this song as its lyrics demanded a variety of locales. Anushka looks stunning in all the attires. She was most beautiful in the queen’s outfit. Karthi and Anushka have been working hard for the song.”
He further added, “The part of the song in which Anushka and Karthi act as tribals was just amazing to watch. This is going to be one of the grandest songs in Tamil films released recently”
Surya and director Gautham Vasudev Menon unites after a gap of four years for Thuppariyum Anandhan. The film which Kick-started long time back had plans of roping in Kamal Hassan, later Ajith and then news also had that the crew has plans to have Vijay on board.
But now finally its Surya who has bagged the role. After playing a successful cop role in Kakha Kakha and a challenging dual role in Vaaranam Aayiram, Surya will now be playing a detective for Thuppariyum Anandhan. The film will kick start by early 2013.
Surya after completing Singham 2 ( in which he plays the police Duraisingham) and when Gautham completes Yohan with Vijay, this project will roll out states the press release from Photon Kathas.
Surya about bagging the offer said, “When Gautham and I come together, people expect romance, great songs and action.”
Gautham Menon told, “I am really excited that Suriya has come on board to do Thuppariyum Anandhan with me. This will be an action adventure in a contemporary styled period film. All cliches associated with making a period film will be broken with this effort.”
Interestingly, a theory which is doing the rounds is that Surya has always delivered hits, when he was approached for a role rejected by other heroes (read Ajith). For example, Surya's debut movie Nerukku Ner in which Surya's role was first offered to Ajith alongside Vijay and Gautham Menon's Kakha Kakha that was initially offered to Ajith & Vikram. Both films went on to become hit.
Even AR Murugadoss's Ghajini ( which kick started in the name of Mirattal), was initially offered to Ajith, who had earlier worked with him for Dheena. This movie too spelt huge success not just in Tamil but also in Hindi as well.
Well with such a theory behind it, we expect Thuppariyum Anandhan to be a hit!

Thala Ajith's upcoming release Billa 2 is yet again facing trouble with its release date. Just like his 50th film Mankatha, which created a curiosity relating to its release date, similar situation has rose for Billa 2.
Billa 2, which was initially scheduled for release by first week of June, was postponed to June 22 and now we hear that it will be released on the 29th of June.
We hear that this decision was taken as they did not want the film to clash with Karthi's Saguni which is scheduled for June 21st release. Though Ajith's Billa 2 is a bigger project than Karthi's Saguni, they still did not want the two to clash in the same week and affect each others business.
Though there has been no official news about the postponement, Billa 2 has received an ‘A' certificate. The film is a prequel to Ajith's earlier Billa, directed by Vishnuvardhan. Billa 2 stars Parvathy Omanakuttan, Bruna Abdullah as the female leads and is directed by Chakri Toleti. While the film's music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
On the other hand Saguni has Karthi and Pranitha in the lead roles and is a political satire thriller, directed by Shankar Dayal and has music by GV Prakash.
Karthi and Anushka starrer 'Alex Pandian' director Suraj is moving to the God's own country Kerala for the next schedule of shoot. The crew has wrapped up the Mysore schedule today and will be flying to Chalakudi falls in Kerala for canning a few important scenes.
Both the actors have shot for a song sequence in Chennai. The crew members mention that both the stars set the sets on fire with their dancing skills. Comedian Santhanam will appear in a pivotal role in this film.
About the progress director Suraj says that the film is progressing with its schedule in a steady pace. About the film the director adds that the screenplay will keep the audience engaged and make them expect the next after each scene.
Milind Soman plays the baddie while the rest of the cast includes Prathap Pothen, Nikitha, Sanusha, Suman and Megha Nair. K.E Gnanavel Raja is producing the film under Studio Green production banner. Devi Sri Prasad composes the music and Saravanan does the Camera work for the film.
